Meet Anna Fitzpatrick – March’s STUDENT- OF- THE- MONTH!

Anna Fitzpatrick HeadshotMeet ANNA FITZPATRICK!!! March’s Student- of- the -Month!!! Anna is a senior at East Aurora High School and has been a voice student of Leah Wietig at Main Stage Studios for two years. She also studies private acting with Meaghan Randall at MSS. Some of Anna’s favorite performing moments includes tapping in the opening number of 42nd Street, singing the song “Home” as Belle in Beauty and the Beast and playing Mary Poppins in the musical Mary Poppins in her school’s production last month. Mary Poppins was by far her favorite role and also the most challenging. Anna enjoys listening to musical theatre songs: old and new as well as songs by such pop artists as Sara Bareilles and Adele.

When asked who has been an inspiration in her life she says, “My sister Autumn always knew I had stage fright and would never sign myself up to audition for the musical in high school, so she signed me up without telling me until the day of my audition. I was put in the ensemble, and having that year of experience made me want to work harder to become a lead and share my talents with others. As I progressed through my high school career and realized I wanted to pursue musical theatre, and I’ll never stop thanking her for that.”

Anna is also a dancer and says when she isn’t making music she is dancing! When asked what kind of advice she would give someone who would like to take music lessons she says, “Never be afraid to give it your all during your lesson because that is the time to mess up. You are there to be taught things you don’t already know so then you can fix your mistakes with the help of your educator. Therefore, with this knowledge and risk taking you won’t mess up during an audition or performance. Never be afraid to go the extra mile because you will always receive guidance and support by your teacher(s) to make you the best performer you are willing to be.”

Anna is a very talented singer, dancer and actor. We are so excited to see where her bright future will lead her. She hopes to major in Musical Theatre in college.

Congrats Anna! March’s Student- of- the Month!
