Matt Marco

Matthew Marco is active in the Buffalo area as a conductor and collaborative pianist. He is currently Music Director of Opera-Lytes and has served as Music Director or Assistant Conductor with Nickel City Opera, the Hillman Opera Company, the Western New York Chamber Orchestra and the Clarkson University Orchestra. Highlights of Mr. Marco’s 2015-16 season include an appearance as soloist in Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, two recitals of American music, and a European recital tour with Valerian Ruminski, Bass. In recent seasons he has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Buffalo Chamber Players, Friends of Vienna, and Western New York Chamber Orchestra. He has served as accompanist to the Buffalo Master Chorale, and Organ Scholar at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Marco has participated in master classes with Jake Heggie, Ian Clarke, Ana Maria Trenchi Bottazzi, Larry Rachleff, Helmuth Rilling, and Kenneth Kiesler. He completed a Master’s from SUNY Fredonia in Collaborative Piano, studying with Anne Kissel, and a Bachelor’s in Piano Performance and Musical Studies from SUNY Potsdam, studying with Francois Germain. He has also pursued additional conducting studies in Potsdam with Brian Doyle, and in Buffalo with Paul Ferington. For more information, please visit
