Priscilla Wiedl is a Vocal Music teacher where she taught grades K-12 in several area public school districts, including Lake Shore Central Schools where she retired after 30
years of teaching there. In retirement she continued to teach in local parochial schools.Throughout her entire career she has taught private piano, voice and organ to many
students in her private studio. Several of her students have chosen careers in the music world.
Mrs. Wiedl has held positions as organist/choir director in several area churches and is presently organist/pianist at a local Lutheran church. She has performed vocal solos for many weddings and funerals and subbed as organist in local churches. She has provided piano accompaniment for vocal and instrumental soloists in recitals and for
ECMEA and NYSSMA competitions. She has enjoyed coaching students who are preparing for college auditions.
Mrs. Wiedl is a graduate of Houghton College, Houghton, NY where she received a BMus degree, and did her graduate study at Buffalo State College, Canisius College,
and Fredonia University.
She was a board member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus and initiated the BPC Choral Affiliates program; chairman of St. Paul’s Cathedral Friends of Music. Presently
she is secretary for the Buffalo Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) and is on the steering committee for the upcoming Regional Convention to be held in
Buffalo July 1-4, 2019; and is a member of the board of directors of the Greater Buffalo Friends of Music (GBFOM).
She enjoys gardening with her husband, occasionally plays a round of golf and attends several concerts and plays throughout the year (often enjoying the performances of
former students).
